  • Design and implement data science tools to drive market-leading, purposeful solutions.
  • Collaborate with the data community to identify opportunities supporting the banks strategic direction.
  • Promote data literacy education with stakeholders, fostering a data-driven culture and impactful work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ethically sound data models end-to-end, using statistical, mathematical, machine-learning, and software engineering skills.
  • Understand business stakeholder needs, forming hypotheses and identifying suitable data and analytics solutions to support business strategy.
  • Translate data to define detailed business questions, problems, or opportunities that can be addressed analytically.
  • Apply software engineering and product development principles to create, scale, and deploy software-driven products and services.
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary data and analytics teams, adhering to Agile methodologies and achieving project goals.
  • Select, build, train, and test machine learning models, considering model valuation, risk, governance, and ethical implications, ensuring implementation and scalability.
  • Iteratively develop and prototype data analysis pipelines, generating insights for production deployment.

Skills and Expertise

  • Strong academic background in a STEM discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science).
  • Experience with statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.
  • Financial services knowledge.
  • Ability to identify wider business impact, risk, or opportunities and connect key outputs and processes.
  • Ability to use data to solve business problems, from hypothesis to resolution.
  • Experience using programming languages and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with Cloud applications.
  • Data synthesis, translation, and visualization skills for key stakeholders.
  • Experience in exploratory data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with diverse stakeholders.
