Crane Supervisor / Slinger Role in Plymouth
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect lifting equipment for safety and suitability.
- Utilize chain blocks and fleeting techniques.
- Operate fixed gantry (overhead traveller) cranes, spreader bars, plate clamps, and chain blocks.
- Read and interpret lifting instructions.
- Complete work tasks on time, within budget, and to a high quality.
Skills and Expertise
- Competent in the general use of lifting equipment and tools.
- Experience in heavy complex lifting operations.
- Valid slinging qualification (e.g., CPCS/NPORS/NVQ/Supervisor).
- Experience working in the marine industry (Royal Navy ships & submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels, or large commercial ships preferred).
- Experience with Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels, or large commercial ships (preferred).
Job Facilities/Benefits
- 12-month contract
- 35 standard hours per week (Monday-Thursday: 07:30-15:30, Friday: 07:30-12:30)
- Shift and overtime possibilities (not guaranteed)
- Slinger Pay Rates:
- PAYE: 19.45 per hour
- Umbrella: 24.16 per hour (Pre 12 weeks), 24.71 per hour (Post 12 weeks)
- Radius Allowance
- Crane Supervisor Pay Rates:
- PAYE: 23.40 per hour
- Umbrella: 29.19 per hour (Pre 12 weeks), 29.85 per hour (Post 12 weeks)

- SC security clearance required
