Cook Manager – Christ Church, Church of England School
Key Responsibilities
- Manage food replenishment and end-of-service work area dismantling.
- Develop, mentor, and train kitchen team members.
- Control all aspects of catering operations (labour, food, stock).
- Manage and optimize controllable costs.
- Ensure consistent food and service standards for staff, visitors, and students.
- Manage menu creation and development.
- Conduct routine audits to maintain standards.
Skills and Expertise
- Large-scale cooking experience (100-1300 students).
- Recipe following experience, preferably in a similar setting.
- Previous staff supervision or line management experience.
- Experience with fresh produce and ingredients.
- Adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a busy kitchen.
- Professionalism, positive attitude, and leadership by example.
- NVQ Level 2, Level 2 Food safety Certificate
- 1+ years experience in hands-on cooking, training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
