Contracts Manager – Facilities Management
Key Responsibilities
- Management of the FM service, including responsive repairs, proactive maintenance, and investment services to maintain a high-quality operational estate.
- Trend analysis and understanding long-term estate issues, contributing to the Asset Management Strategy, managing medium and long-term maintenance plans, and delivering minor works.
- Providing engineering and FM advice, assisting in the delivery of a centre of excellence for FM.
- Developing the service in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure a fully integrated Property approach.
- Performance managing FM contract suppliers, providing strong leadership to ensure value for money, quality service, and efficiency.
- Agreeing and monitoring KPIs to ensure high supplier performance, implementing payment mechanisms and monitoring supplier action plans if necessary.
- Implementing, managing, and contributing to the strategic development of corporate initiatives on FM commissioning and delivery.
- Working with Property colleagues to drive improvement and overall state of repair and fitness for operational properties.
- Ensuring Council professional agents are resourced and trained to comply with Health and Safety and other legislation affecting FM Properties.
- Reviewing audits of professional agents and contractors to ensure all necessary reports and records are in place to prove compliance.
Skills and Expertise
- Qualifications in FM Management or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and experience of leading contract management
- Expertise in using Microsoft applications for service management
- Significant experience in FM management
- Experience in performance reporting and contract management of a similar size
- Demonstrable management experience of a similar service/function
- Ability to present clear, logical written and verbal arguments
- Ability to review processes and procedures to ensure practical effectiveness
- Adaptable communication style for different staff groups and third parties
