Commercial Lead – Contract Management Capability Programme
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the development of commercial strategies for major projects and programmes.
- Assess commercial models to determine optimal mechanisms for achieving objectives, including investment catalysis.
- Develop and implement innovative interventions like public-private partnerships, equity shares, and loans to expand the commercial offering.
- Lead policy revision due to public procurement reform.
- Support the Assistant Director Commercial in developing and maintaining Agency policy and process standards for contracting and grant competitions, ensuring value-for-money solutions and risk management.
- Provide proactive commercial advice and support to major project and programme teams, reviewing supplier and grant recipient proposals, change requests, and deliverables.
- Prepare briefs and guidance for internal and external audiences, including non-commercial specialists and potential suppliers.
Skills and Expertise
- Expert-level Contract Management Capability Programme knowledge.
- Proven ability to use commercial acumen for effective and value-for-money outcomes.
- Strong negotiation skills for achieving excellent commercial outcomes.
- Analytical skills to assess complex delivery environments and make effective commercial recommendations, including development of commercial and procurement strategies, and presenting compelling business cases.
- Proven track record of negotiating contract terms.
- Experience with Grants (desirable), understanding of functional standards for Grants and commercial operating standards for Grants (desirable).
