Community Payback Placement Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Find and assess suitable Community Payback placements, including those for training and future employment, considering protective characteristics.
  • Assess income generation opportunities within placements, and maximizing potential.
  • Create safe working practice schedules and project files adhering to Health and safety standards.
  • Promote positive relationships with beneficiaries and stakeholders through meetings and site visits.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all parties (staff, service users, beneficiaries) at Community Payback work sites, complying with Health & Safety legislation and policy.
  • Maintain placement compliance with quality requirements, and act on quality issues.
  • Coordinate tools, equipment, clothing, and PPE, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements and user safety.
  • Provide relevant Health and Safety Training to staff, addressing ad-hoc needs and service delivery plan requirements.
  • Support investigations into Health and Safety incidents, reporting serious incidents and near misses, sharing lessons learned.
  • Utilize electronic, social media and other innovative methods to promote Community Payback placements.
  • Liaise with probation practitioners for information exchange and appropriate working arrangements.
  • Participate in rota planning, delivery, and review of service user induction.
  • Recruit, support and coordinate mentors to encourage service user compliance and access to support networks.
  • Cover CP supervisor role where necessary to avoid placement cancellations.
  • Contribute to training of CP supervisors and beneficiaries.

Skills and Expertise

  • Strong communication skills (English or Welsh, as specified).
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse partners.
  • Knowledge of Community Payback Guidance Manual.
  • Health and Safety expertise.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to assess placement viability and income potential.
  • Commitment to health and safety.
  • Ability to conduct health and safety assessments.
