Communications and Engagement Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of new branding, creating a strong visual and written identity for the programme.
- Support the training team in developing training materials that reflect the programme’s identity.
- Manage all communications disciplines, from strategic planning to delivery.
- Manage website and social media presence, including copywriting and content creation.
- Lead communications for the programme and support organisations to raise awareness of the Armed Forces community.
- Be a subject-matter expert in communications and engagement at national level.
- Act as a brand guardian for the programme and wider NHS, ensuring brand guidelines are followed.
- Offer guidance to the team in achieving a consistent approach to communications.
- Report progress against national and organisational plans using effective communications.
- Support the priorities of Healthcare for the Armed Forces community and the Office of Veterans Affairs Veterans Strategy Action Plan.
- Develop the Veteran Aware brand alongside the VCHA programme aims.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure high-quality work supporting the delivery of the programme on time, to quality standards, and cost-effectively.
- Attend regular team meetings to monitor progress against KPIs.
- Create, develop, and manage content on the VCHA website.
- Evolve and implement the programme communications strategy.
- Develop content for awareness moments.
- Produce content toolkits for accredited organisations to support consistent national communications.
- Manage programme social media accounts.
- Produce and disseminate news articles, press releases, and online information.
- Develop communications products (posters, leaflets, photographs, videos).
- Advise and manage media risk mitigation and act as a brand guardian.
- Attend stakeholder meetings, note discussions, and record agreed actions.
- Attend in-person events (conferences, breakfast clubs).
