Key Responsibilities

• Select and load specified fixtures, tooling, and program to machine (CNC machines).
• Measure tool and set tool compensations, either for own use or for lower skilled colleagues.
• Achieve and maintain established process and takt times for jobs.
• Verify all parameters conform to specification on the first-off part (stamping/signing production cards).
• Record and isolate defects, informing the Team Leader if a non-conformance part is detected.
• Actively comply with and encourage lean and continuous improvement activities.
• Engage in 6S and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities.
• Proactively seek opportunities for self-improvement by learning additional machine control systems, machining processes, and component verification methodology.
• Carry out any other related duties assigned by the Working Team Leader.

Skills and Expertise

• Experienced machinist capable of working to Aerospace tolerances (preferred).
• Fully conversant with manufacturing documentation (procedures, work instructions, customer specifications).
• Working knowledge of a variety of manufacturing methods and processes.
• Time-served apprenticeship, certificate of craftsmanship, and/or experience of aero structure products (or equivalent).
