As a specialist clinical nurse, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously in managing patient caseloads. You will embrace change and innovation and be dedicated to advancing practice through education and leadership.

You will demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and be a professional role model for the team members. As a mentor, you will develop educational sessions and provide assistance to peers and individuals advancing within the service.

A prescribing qualification would be desirable, but not essential. We are committed to providing you with the best training opportunities possible.

The post holder will contribute to the provision of a nurse led Dermatology service. The post holder will provide specialist advice to patients with dermatological conditions and ensure that they are managed effectively and safely using evidence based practice. This will include systemic monitoring, Phototherapy, Skin surgery, Biopsies, curette and cautery, Injections for Botox, Hyperhidrosis and Triamcinolone for Keloid, and Hyperkeratotic scars.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist works within the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust :

· To provide professional leadership, expert advice and support on issues related to Dermatology across the organisation

· To lead and develop a strategic approach to the management, and the treatment of patients with skin conditions.

· Lead on specialist teaching on Dermatology issues in the MDT to improve patients care.

· To work autonomously and collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, sharing knowledge and information in order to facilitate good quality clinical practice

· To lead clinical audit for Phototherapy and the implementation of change

· To provide specialist advice in relation to purchasing and cost effective resource management
