Child Protection Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
- Support Western Isles Chief Officer Group for Child Protection and the Child Protection Committee.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement Child Protection policies and practice throughout the Western Isles.
- Support Lead Officer in reviewing service performance to improve quality and efficiency.
- Manage inter-agency training budget.
- Plan and support inter-agency response to Child Protection inspections.
- Deliver a rolling programme of Level 1 and Level 2 Child Protection Training.
- Chair multi-agency care planning reviews for children as instructed.
Skills and Expertise
- Detailed knowledge of child care and child protection legislation.
- Awareness of issues/barriers to inter-agency learning.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write detailed policy/committee reports.
- Professional qualification in Social Work/nursing/teaching or relevant police qualification.
- Extensive direct experience of child protection/child care.
- Direct experience providing training for qualified and unqualified staff.
