We have an opportunity for someone to join our Central Reservations team as a Central Groups and Events Executive.


Location: This role can be based either out of our ABode Chester hotel or ABode Manchester. A two-minute stroll from Manchester Piccadilly train station brings you to the door of the luxury 61-bedroom hotel in Manchester city centre, housed in a 19th century textile factory.
This city centre location gives our employees the experience of working in a quality led-hotel in the hustle and bustle of a major city.

Hours: Full time, 5 days per week. Monday to Friday, office hours, with occasional weekend working where required.

Reporting to the Central Reservations Manager, as the Central Groups and Events Executive you will you will work alongside the wider Central Reservations team, to coordinate and organise an array of events, from private dinners, weddings and special events to corporate meetings and get aways, mainly for our ABode city centre locations in Manchester and Glasgow, whilst also supporting at times our properties in Canterbury and Chester.

The core things you will be doing:

  • Pick up and manage group booking enquiries for selected hotels, converting into bookings where possible.
  • Working with clients, from enquiry to the day of the event, to ensure all their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Creating, checking and distributing Group function sheets, and managing bookings in our Property Management System (PMS).
  • Completing Request for Proposals (RFP’) for potential clients on request
  • Managing our databases and digital platforms so they are always up to date and accurate.
  • Developing relationships with regular guests, to ensure we maintain guest loyalty.
  • Developing procedures and step by step guides for group bookings for others within the Comapny to follow.
  • Maximise revenue from guest bookings and ensuring all information is properly logged on our internal platforms,
  • Manging billing and payments, making sure it’s all on time.

Our dream candidate

  • Tech and data savvy, confident with online digital platforms, with experience using Property Management Systems (ideally Opera), who has previous hotel meeting and events/sales experience
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and on their own.
  • Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, enthusiasm and be a motivator.
  • A great communicator in all formats.
  • Has great attention to detail and excellent written communication.
  • Embraces change, happy to dive in and help the wider team when needed.
