Remuneration: £35,000 to £37,000 PA, depending on experience

Café Cornell is our flagship community café, offering great food in a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere.
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work alongside adults with barriers to employment, providing work-based training in a live hospitality environment. We are also due to open our second premises by way of an Eco and Refill retail shop, which will also serve as a training space for our students.
Role Overview
We are looking for someone with management experience and extensive fundraising and contract bid writing experience, who is keen to use their skills to help EEG CIC grow our income and sustain our work in the community.
The successful candidate will have:
A proactive and flexible approach
Have experience working as a charity fundraiser and a proven track record of personally securing fundraising income.
Have management experience of leading a team
Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and supporters.
Prepared to be actively involved in our presentation and our service delivery
You will also help to shape the department’s overall fundraising strategy and play an important role in ensuring that many have hope of a better future, through our service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
This role requires strong leadership and management skills which will support our business development team.
These include:
Maintaining our inclusive and positive organisational culture.
To communicate openly and transparently and provide feedback regularly
Maintain accurate reports, records and documentation, including contracts, report writing, bid writing and other essential paperwork.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
Flexible, with the ability to assist where needed and on the day in a reactive business environment
Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Manage time effectively and be a strong and motivated self-starter
Desirable Skills
Experience working in a community-focused environment or with disadvantaged groups.
Knowledge of the local community in Saffron Walden and surrounding areas.
Ability to work independently and proactively, with a strong sense of initiative.
