Assistant Cook

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef Manager with daily cooking duties.
  • Provide high-quality and passionate catering service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Serve customers in a fast-paced environment with excellent presentation and portion control.
  • Ensure counters, seating areas, and kitchen are kept clean at all times.
  • Deliver a quality hospitality service.
  • Complete cleaning rotas/dishwasher duties as required.
  • Help in the preparation of school lunches.
  • Maintain correct food storage and holding temperatures.
  • Act within Health and Safety at Work regulations.
  • Promote excellent customer service.
  • Carry out other reasonably comparable duties.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.

Skills and Expertise

  • Passionate about food, people, and great service.
  • Experience in catering or education sector (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and hygiene.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness for further development through Catering by Churchills training (preferred).
  • Respectful of equal opportunities.
  • DBS Clearance (required).

Job Facilities/Benefits
