Key Responsibilities

  • Experience of teaching, learning, and assessment to at least KS3/4, preferably KS5.
  • A good understanding of curriculum developments.
  • Ability to use a range of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Commitment to high standards in all aspects of the academy’s work.
  • Understanding of Assessment for Learning to improve student performance and embed this within the department.
  • Confidence in using standard computer packages to enhance student learning.
  • Ability to use student level data to raise standards.
  • Enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Creative problem-solving and willingness to develop new approaches and ideas.
  • Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and recognise potential safeguarding issues.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to students and their parents.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience teaching to KS3/4 or KS5
  • Curriculum development knowledge
  • Varied teaching strategies
  • Excellent understanding of Assessment for Learning
  • Proficiency in standard computer packages
  • Data analysis skills for raising student standards
