After School Club Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of snacks and meals, cleaning away and washing up.
  • Be responsible for a group of children.
  • Ensure the safety of children at all times and deal with potential dangers.
  • Attend occasional staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Inform SLT immediately of any incident detrimental to a child’s well-being.
  • Offer ideas and participate in new and improved play activities (e.g., arts and crafts, physical, cooking).

Skills and Expertise

  • NVQ Level 2 in Early Years / Play-work / Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to acquire).
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to acquire).
  • Experience working with children of relevant age.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Ability to encourage and inspire young people.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to work flexibly.
