Pharmacist – Critical Care and Theatres – Bedford

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on clinical pharmacy services for critical care, recovery units, and operating theatres.
  • Contribute to the running of the clinical pharmacy service, including line management and training.
  • Deliver defined service KPIs and work closely with other Lead/Specialist Pharmacists.
  • Deliver specialist pharmaceutical care, including non-medical prescribing (where applicable).
  • Support the Clinical Service Line and Pharmacy department in risk management, financial management, and clinical governance.
  • Lead and develop clinical pharmacy audit and practice research in critical care.
  • Undertake clinical supervision of junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants, and pre-registration pharmacists.
  • Act as a professional role model and source of specialist advice.
  • Work with, supervise, and be a role model for other pharmacists to lead, plan, and develop advanced specialist clinical pharmacy services, consistent with local and national policies.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience in a variety of clinical specialties, including critical care.
  • Vision, energy, enthusiasm, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and collaborate with medical, nursing, pharmacy, and General Manager colleagues.
  • Experience with electronic prescribing (inpatient).
  • Understanding of risk management and compliance with clinical guidance.
  • Knowledge of local and national policies and best practices.
  • Proven leadership and development skills for clinical pharmacy services.
