Advanced Pharmacist – Dermatology
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an advanced Pharmacy practitioner for dermatology, planning care and identifying medicine use concerns.
- Be an Independent Prescriber (IP) and develop the pharmacist independent prescriber role.
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to dermatology out-patient patients.
- Clinically check prescriptions, referring unusual doses or interactions.
- Assist in clinical decision making to ensure patient safety and medication effectiveness.
- Discuss medication issues with patients and liaise with other healthcare professionals.
- Review audit results, developing action plans as needed.
- Fulfil the role of Responsible Pharmacist in the dispensary as required.
Skills and Expertise
- Advanced clinical pharmacy skills in dermatology
- Independent Prescriber (IP) experience
