Commercial Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive commercial support, including advice and guidance on routes to market and tendering processes.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the commercial pipeline, collaborating closely with subject matter experts and commercial colleagues.
- Supporting the development of complex end-to-end procurements, ensuring innovation while adhering to commercial policy, processes, and category strategies (where applicable).
- Leading on supply market analysis to inform commercial strategies and contract management.
- Networking to access current trends and best practices, as well as potential routes to market.
- Actively contributing to the creation of programme plans, procurement and contracting strategies.
- Providing contract administration and management, as well as Supplier Relationship Management for key suppliers and contracts.
Skills and Expertise
- Experience of working in public sector procurement.
- Experience of managing end-to-end sourcing in large-scale, complex, or high-risk programmes.
- Experience working across diverse and complex operating models to develop and implement effective commercial strategies.
- Experience of supporting the development and delivery of complex Invitations to Tender, negotiations, and contracts (potentially requiring non-standard conditions).
- Experience in building positive relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, understanding and managing multiple perspectives, and influencing stakeholders.
- End-to-End sourcing experience in the public sector.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning systems (desirable).
