Community Midwife – Swindon
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and neonatal care programmes for women and babies, aligning with evidence, Trust policies, guidelines, and the Code.
- Provide appropriate advice, knowledge, and counselling to women and their partners regarding antenatal, intrapartum (including home births), and postpartum care.
- Act as an advocate for women and babies receiving maternity care.
- Demonstrate professional behaviour, acting as a helpful, kind, caring, compassionate, and respectful role model for colleagues, in accordance with the NMC Code (2015).
- Provide parenting education, advice on health issues, and support in altering health behaviours to improve health and wellbeing.
Skills and Expertise
- Holistic midwifery care in hospital, birth centre, and community settings.
- Management of individual caseloads, clients, and/or ward areas.
- Deputization for Band 7 community midwives.
- Ability to work in various community settings.
- Experience in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
