Senior Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Mentoring Design Engineers
- Deputising for Head of Engineering
- Working closely with Commercial and Project teams to ensure new products/projects are delivered on time and in budget
- Directly managing key OEM accounts, providing on-site Design support & technical advice
- Working closely with Manufacturing and Production teams to ensure Products and Processes are designed for manufacture
- Improving Design office procedures in line with IATF 16949
- Working closely with suppliers to ensure products are designed for manufacture & meet all technical & commercial requirements
- Design of new & existing products, producing 2D drawings/3D models for parts & assemblies
- Design fixtures/tooling to aid in the manufacture of fluid transfer assemblies
Skills and Expertise
- OEM Design experience in Aerospace or Marine manufacturing company
- SolidWorks
- CATIA
- OEM automotive standards (1st tier Automotive supplier advantage)
- Product design (2D drawings and 3D models of parts and assemblies)
- Design fixtures or tooling for manufacture
- HNC level or above in Design Engineering
- Jig or fixture and SPM Design Knowledge
- IATF 16949
- Clear analytical approach and methodical work process
