Teaching Care Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one personal support for pupils with additional needs.
• Deliver special educational and/or medical support to ensure successful learning engagement and access.
• Maintain professional records and appropriate notes for individual pupils.

Skills and Expertise

• Good written and numeracy skills
• Experience supporting children with additional needs
• Ability to support medical and personal care needs
• Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice
• Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to build trust with pupils and their parents/carers
• Experience supporting and facilitating pupils’ learning and progress
• Basic technology skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders
• Ability to work constructively as part of a team
