Chemical Safety and CoSHH Advisor – Bridgwater

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality technical advice on chemical management for safety, health, fire, and environment functions.
  • Supporting the site’s safety, health, fire, and environment functions to deliver a safe working environment.
  • Providing support and coaching to contract partner CoSHH Coordinators.
  • Supporting the site’s transition into a COMAH-regulated site.
  • Advising on emergency response capability to ensure appropriate response tools are in place.
  • Managing and assuring the site’s chemical inventory, supporting compliance with regulatory requirements, including COMAH.
  • Developing arrangements for safe chemical storage and COMAH site operation.
  • Assessing contractor product requests, ensuring consultation with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Coaching and supporting contract partners on chemical safety standards.
  • Identifying hazards requiring mitigation or response measures and advising stakeholders.
  • Supporting the delivery of an improved chemical management system.
  • Identifying chemical hazards and supporting risk assessment and mitigation for specialists and contract partners.
  • Supporting the development of a Chemical Management Community of Best Practice.
