Mathematics Teacher
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant, differentiated, and inspiring curriculum for students.
- Support the subject area as appropriate.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
- Provide a motivating and structured learning experience for students to achieve their potential.
- Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and supporting university applications.
- Contribute to the Cultural Perspectives programme and wider school life, including extra-curricular activities.
- Report to the Head of Maths & Physics and liaise with relevant staff, parents, governors, and other stakeholders.
Skills and Expertise
- Good undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant Mathematics subject.
- QTS (or equivalent relevant experience) or plans for Initial Teacher Education.
- Successful experience teaching A Level Maths at Sixth Form level (teaching practice acceptable).
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning theories and practices.
- Understanding of how high-achieving students learn.
- Understanding of high expectations for all students (behaviour and academic).
- Understanding of inclusive provision and practices for all students, including SEND and EAL.
- Knowledge and experience of writing lesson plans, developing resources, and assessing student work.
