Business Development Manager – Tyne and Wear

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development activities to build partnerships for new opportunities.
  • Support the design, development, and implementation of business development strategies and plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, business partners, and other related organizations.
  • Monitor and analyse the marketplace.
  • Participate in sales strategies and policies.
  • Generate and facilitate the total solution of business development and continuous growth.
  • Meet customer needs and assist the business in achieving lending commitments.
  • Ensure business goals are met in a manner consistent with company values.
  • Handle concerns and complaints at first point of contact.
  • Ensure delivery of good customer outcomes.
  • Formulate and drive a business plan to achieve KPIs.
  • Understand and adhere to relevant laws, conflicts of interest, and anti-money laundering guidelines.
  • Complete all control tasks in a timely manner.
  • Operate within the training and competence scheme.
  • Provide accurate, full, and relevant information to customers.
  • Respond and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Deliver effective performance within challenging timelines.
  • Liaise with colleagues to share best practice.
  • Flex capacity between teams as required.
  • Build a strong internal and external network of stakeholders.
  • Proactively promote a culture where risk is managed effectively.

Skills and Expertise

  • Understanding of audit and risk requirements (internal and external).
  • Experience of meeting and exceeding customer needs.
  • Relevant professional qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience delivering presentations to customers.
  • Effective relationship management, diary management, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of technology platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to network effectively.

Mandatory Qualification: Diploma in Lending Skills Professional Qualification (or equivalent). If not held, there is a requirement to study for and complete the qualification within 18 months of enrolment.
