Release Train Manager Edinburgh
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining the release train, including release and environment strategy preparation and review, planning, estimation, and interdependency management.
- Providing cross-team synchronization, ensuring a clear understanding of how individual work contributes to customer value.
- Leading continuous improvement across delivery, improving or removing manual steps to enhance release train agility and value for end customers.
- Enhancing deployment and management phases of the development lifecycle, including Agile coaching and best practice contribution.
- Facilitating release and sprint vision, goals, and work pipelines, and pre/post-planning meetings.
- Building and communicating release calendars and iterative planning cycles, synchronizing with other release train managers.
- Aggregating programme release objectives into value stream release objectives for visibility and transparency.
- Assisting with economic decision-making by facilitating team estimation and roll-up to programme and portfolio levels.
Skills and Expertise
- Expert understanding of running complex projects spanning multiple Scrum and non-Scrum teams.
- Expert knowledge and proficiency with scaled Agile and Idea to Value frameworks and methodologies (value stream, portfolio, programme, team levels).
- Prioritization and sequencing of tasks for feature teams.
- Strong servant leadership capabilities, creating and sharing a vision aligned with the banks.
- Strong stakeholder skills, influencing both business and technical partners.
- Experience running multiple matrix-managed teams.
