SEMH Physical Education Teacher

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Promote the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and personal development through sport and fitness.
  • Use innovative approaches to engage students and build their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage behavior effectively, encouraging positive engagement in all aspects of school life.
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and outcomes of students with SEN and SEMH needs.

Skills and Expertise

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Physical Education.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or similar challenges.
  • Passion for supporting young people in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving success.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Knowledge of strategies for managing challenging behavior and promoting positive mental health.

  • Salary: 31,650 – 45,646 per year + SEN Allowance
