Domestic Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Daily supervision of Domestic Services
- Completing all supervisory duties
- Working as part of a supervisory team
- Providing support to the domestic team
- Adopting a flexible approach to working hours
- Organising staff annual leave
- Offering training support as needed
- Maintaining government standards
- Allocating and organising day-to-day work tasks and activities
- Adjusting staff rotas for unplanned absences and training
- Ensuring building security
- Monitoring performance against work schedules
- Performing duties according to approved methods, frequencies, and standards
- Training and assessing staff in the use of equipment, machinery, COSHH, and cleaning materials
- Allocating cleaning materials and equipment
- Conducting spot checks on wards and departments to monitor cleaning standards
- Monitoring compliance with the uniform policy
- Attending relevant training courses
- Completing Datix reporting
- Adopting a flexible approach when working with colleagues and other staff
- Working towards the highest standards of patient care
- Acting as a hospital site key holder, managing key allocation and alarm systems
- Auditing cleaning standards against national standards and quality assurance procedures
- Liaising with wards, departments, and accommodation
- Handling complaints and taking preliminary action to resolve them
- Taking action on reported accidents and machinery/building defects
- Conducting initial investigations into accidents
- Implementing policies and making recommendations to improve work practices
- Assisting with the interview and selection of staff
- Training and assessing staff in conjunction with Domestic Services Training protocols
