Head Veterinary Nurse
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and mentoring a team of nurses and support staff
- Coordinating daily clinical operations and ensuring smooth practice running
- Maintaining excellent clinical standards and ensuring compliance with protocols
- Organizing and delivering nurse clinics
- Supporting the team with a hands-on approach, including surgical and medical nursing tasks
- Assisting in the training and development of Student Nurses as a Clinical Coach
- Actively participating in maintaining and improving practice cleanliness and equipment
- Liaising with management to implement new ideas and ensure high standard of patient care
Skills and Expertise
- Experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Minimum 3 years experience in practice; leadership/head nurse experience preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge
- Ability to lead by example in all areas of nursing
- Passion for coaching and developing a nursing team
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proactive and collaborative attitude
- Ability to implement improvements to patient care
Job Facilities/Benefits
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Option for 4-day working week or shorter 5-day week
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (4-hour shift)
- 22 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (total 30 days)
- No out-of-hours responsibilities

- 35,000-40,000 salary (dependent on experience)
