Obstetric Theatre Practitioner – Bournemouth
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the clinical team leaders to ensure high-quality, individualized care to patients/clients and relatives as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Create and maintain legible and accurate records of care.
- Work with other disciplines and professions for patient welfare.
- Maintain, update, and develop personal and professional knowledge.
- Ensure all care is provided in accordance with UHD NHS Foundation Trust Policies.
- Ensure compliance within the code of conduct with the professional body.
- Handle patients’ valuables and property in accordance with hospital policy.
- Promote good and effective communications within the Department.
Skills and Expertise
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Specialist knowledge in obstetrics
- Competence in caring for patients in a busy elective and emergency department
- Experience performing tasks of theatre scrub or/and recovery practitioner
- Ability to maintain high standards of pre/peri and postoperative care
- Ability to ensure the safe use of theatre equipment and to maintain equipment readiness
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- UK Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner status
