Key Responsibilities

• Work with the clinical team leaders to ensure high-quality, individualized care to patients/clients and relatives as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Create and maintain legible and accurate records of care.
• Work with other disciplines and professions for patient welfare.
• Maintain, update, and develop personal and professional knowledge.
• Ensure all care is provided in accordance with UHD NHS Foundation Trust Policies.
• Ensure compliance within the code of conduct with the professional body.
• Handle patients’ valuables and property in accordance with hospital policy.
• Promote good and effective communications within the Department.

Skills and Expertise

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Specialist knowledge in obstetrics
• Competence in caring for patients in a busy elective and emergency department
• Experience performing tasks of theatre scrub or/and recovery practitioner
• Ability to maintain high standards of pre/peri and postoperative care
• Ability to ensure the safe use of theatre equipment and to maintain equipment readiness
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• UK Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner status
