Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of patients with various conditions.
  • Formulate and deliver treatment programmes based on evidence-based practice.
  • Treat patients with respect, maintaining dignity and cultural sensitivity.
  • Support and supervise staff at Band 3 to 5 levels.
  • Act as a clinical educator for undergraduate students.
  • Receive and deliver internal training, updating personal development plans.
  • Conduct service audits and evaluations.
  • Assist with service development initiatives.
  • Work effectively as a team member, providing high-quality care.
  • Plan therapy and rehabilitative pathways, evaluating outcomes.
  • Report and document patient condition variances.
  • Offer advice and support to patients and carers.
  • Process referrals for services.
  • Conduct holistic assessments of patient needs.
  • Formulate individual treatment programmes using assessment and reasoning skills.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans.
  • Obtain informed consent and work within a legal framework.
  • Manage clinical risk and potential risks to others.
  • Adhere to SCFT lone worker policy.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Maintain and develop competencies through CPD.
  • Clinically supervise, support, and teach other staff.
  • Support the operational lead with staff appraisals.

Skills and Expertise

  • Clinical skills from previous Occupational Therapy experience.
  • Ability to work independently in the community.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Commitment to clinical governance.
  • Current HPC registration.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options.
  • Clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
  • Treatment skills.
  • Understanding of patient needs across various settings.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with families and professionals.
  • Ability to travel to various locations (nurseries, schools, etc.).
