After School Club Assistant
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of snacks and meals, cleaning away and washing up.
- Be responsible for a group of children.
- Ensure the safety of children at all times and deal with potential dangers.
- Attend occasional staff meetings and training sessions.
- Inform SLT immediately of any incident detrimental to a child’s well-being.
- Offer ideas and participate in new and improved play activities (e.g., arts and crafts, physical, cooking).
Skills and Expertise
- NVQ Level 2 in Early Years / Play-work / Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to acquire).
- Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to acquire).
- Experience working with children of relevant age.
- Experience working with children with additional needs.
- Ability to encourage and inspire young people.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Ability to work flexibly.
