Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the team in the day-to-day running of the canteen and kitchen.
  • Planning and implementing new procedures and concepts.
  • Ensuring food quality is of the highest standard.
  • Training and supervising new staff in safe food preparation.
  • Adhering to HACCP regulations and health procedures.
  • Maintaining par stock levels.
  • Cross-checking deliveries with purchase orders, counting/weighing stock, and cross-checking with delivery notes.
  • Ensuring proper storage of deliveries.
  • Preparing and portioning dishes according to recipe cards.
  • Participating in menu formulation and compilation.
  • Ensuring equipment cleaning and servicing, reporting any breakages.
  • Maintaining personal hygiene and grooming standards.
  • Undertaking relevant training.

Skills and Expertise

  • NVQ level 2 culinary or equivalent
  • Knowledge of health and safety
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment
  • Basic DBS Required

Job Facilities/Benefits

  • Full-time 35 hours per week
