The post holder will act as a junior grade doctor under supervision at all times. They will be expected to assist in clinical audit and data collection and give presentations of case histories as the need arises. The programme will contain a mixture of outpatient clinics, theatres and on-call commitments (a full shift rota). Job Outline To become competent in history taking and examination. To learn how to be able to manage the acutely ill patient. To develop skills as a basic surgical trainee in theatre and out-patients using the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Project as a framework. To become competent in communication skills with colleagues, staff and patients as well as documentation. To be able to work as a member of a team and with other teams in a multi-disciplinary setting. To be able to show professionalism during the delivery of the role that will support and enable good clinical care. To become competent in the area of decision making and prioritising ones workload as well as demonstrating effective time management.
