Autism Care Assistant for a teenage girl P/T@ £13.09/hr in Cramlington – FTE – £25.5k

We are looking for a committed and experienced care assistant to provide enabling support to a 14-year-old girl who lives in the Cramlington area. She has a diagnosis of Autism, a hearing impairment and severe learning disability.
The young girl lives at home with her family and would like somebody to take her out in the community.

She enjoys:
· visiting soft play & trampoline centers
· going to amusement parks
· sensory play activities
· Arts, crafts, writing & drawing

The ideal applicant:
● Will have experience supporting no verbal individuals and understand other forms of communication
● Have an awareness of Autism, learning disabilities and be prepared to complete training as appropriate
● Be available to support for 4 hours every other weekend (Saturday or Sunday)
● Be willing to spend time building an appropriate relationship with the young lady.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate for Children will be required prior to commencement and the full cost will be met by the employer. Training, where applicable, will be provided via online learning modules, on-the-job training and face to face demonstrations/training as deemed appropriate.
