Sous Chef – Nightshift Leicestershire

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head chef, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
  • Oversee the production of dishes assigned to your station, managing your designated area and supplies, and maintaining cleanliness according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste is considered.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, assist colleagues, and coach junior chefs to support their development.
  • Collaborate with the head chef to develop and taste new recipes, suggesting improvements or innovations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring equipment is in good working order.

Skills and Expertise

  • Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Works according to the BaxterStorey core values
