Sous Chef – Nightshift Leicestershire
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head chef, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Oversee the production of dishes assigned to your station, managing your designated area and supplies, and maintaining cleanliness according to policies and procedures.
- Maintain high quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste is considered.
- Communicate effectively with team members, assist colleagues, and coach junior chefs to support their development.
- Collaborate with the head chef to develop and taste new recipes, suggesting improvements or innovations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring equipment is in good working order.
Skills and Expertise
- Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
