Service Manager – Acute Medicine & Ambulatory Emergency Care
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day operational management of specific service areas
- Ensuring performance targets are achieved within budget
- Supporting clinical and operational colleagues in delivering high-quality, cost-effective patient care
- Providing line management and managerial leadership
- Responsibility for Specialty Budgets
- Investigating and coordinating complaints (administrative/medical)
- Effective communication systems within areas of management
- Projects identified by Deputy/General Manager
- Promoting excellent customer service and patient experience
- Supporting quality and Clinical Governance objectives
- Leading health and safety and risk reviews
- Participating in business planning (multi-disciplinary)
- Assisting with operational policy production/implementation
- Supporting patient and staff surveys
Skills and Expertise
- Experience of patient pathways and clinical service management
- Previous management experience (ideally in healthcare)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
