Functional Assessor

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess individuals and how their disabilities or conditions affect their work life.
  • Listen carefully and gather medical history.
  • Perform physical examinations.
  • Produce concise and accurate reports for the DWP.
  • Meet people face-to-face and via telephone/video.
  • Uphold best practice standards in assessment.
  • Work unsupervised with support from a wider multi-disciplinary team.

Skills and Expertise

  • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist with minimum 12 months recent broad-based post-registration experience.
  • Experience in functional assessment and clinical decision-making (advantageous).
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) demonstrable on CV.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
  • ECDL or equivalent (advantageous).
  • Sound understanding of clinical governance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, negotiation abilities, and adaptability.
  • IT skills and experience with various software.
  • Self-awareness and focus on professional development.
  • Integrity and confidentiality in customer interactions.
  • Motivation to deliver quality customer service with empathy, respect, and sensitivity.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to a team environment.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship not possible).

Job Facilities/Benefits

  • Competitive salary: 37,500 – 43,000 + 2,000 after one year + ongoing bonus up to 10%.
  • 9 to 5 hours, Monday-Friday, part-time available.
