Nurture Lead Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Shaping an inclusive culture at the school.
  • Enhancing the educational experience for pupils.
  • Providing specialised learning support in the nurture room and across the wider school.
  • Establishing positive relationships with pupils.
  • Acting as a role model.
  • Running therapeutic sessions for small groups and individual pupils.
  • Administering and analysing Boxall and PASS assessments.
  • Working collaboratively with external agencies.
  • Building positive relationships with parents.

Skills and Expertise

  • Strong moral purpose to enable less advantaged children to achieve.
  • Knowledge of the Principles of Nurture and Trauma Informed Practice.
  • Empathy, patience, supportiveness, and excellent communication skills.
  • High expectations of self and others.
  • Proactive approach to new initiatives.
  • Sound understanding of statutory policies relating to safeguarding.
  • Knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with external agencies.
