Probation Services Officer – Nottinghamshire
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a full range of probation work with individuals before and after sentencing, including assessment, sentence implementation, offender management, and report production.
- Provide case management support to a full range of probationers, utilizing service procedures and practice directions.
- Liaise with criminal courts, criminal justice agencies, and partner agencies.
- Supervise and manage the risk of probationers subject to community sentences.
- Work with other agencies to prevent crime and meet the needs of victims and probationers.
- Demonstrate commitment to equality and inclusion.
- Adhere to policies regarding sensitive/confidential information.
- Carry out offender management tasks with low and medium-risk offenders.
- Support Probation Officer grade in high-risk cases.
- Contribute to the delivery of Risk Management plans.
- Report significant changes in risk, reoffending, or non-compliance.
- Use computer systems to produce, update, and maintain records.
- Ensure effective referrals to services and communicate with relevant staff.
- Undertake prison, home, or alternate location visits.
- Complete reports on cases and prosecute breaches in court.
- Provide cover within teams as required.
- Deliver and co-lead accredited programmes.
- Conduct mandatory alcohol and drug tests.
- Follow prescribed medication procedures.
- Carry out safeguarding children duties.
- Demonstrate pro-social modeling skills.
- Work within the aims and values of Probation Services and HMPPS.
