Interim Senior Communications Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with One SAP Workstream leads to understand strategic outcomes and translate into communications plans.
  • Deliver integrated communications/campaign plans supporting programme objectives.
  • Provide constructive challenge to recommend optimal communications tools and channels.
  • Develop and deliver engaging content (photography, audio, video, online material) and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Create and manage OneHub website (SharePoint) and collaborate with other comms colleagues.
  • Act as a mentor to team members, fostering skills development in communications disciplines.

Skills and Expertise

  • Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role, ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Proven track record in leading successful campaigns and communications projects (digital, media, marketing, internal communications).
  • Experience finding positive solutions to complex stakeholder communications challenges.
  • Experience working in a political environment, including briefing elected members.
  • Experience in mentoring/supervising staff.
  • Proven experience preparing and presenting sensitive information to the public.
  • Skills in writing web content for accessibility and SEO.
  • Ability to lead corporate projects.
  • Proficiency in core IT systems/processes (web editing, social media platforms, basic video/image editing).
  • Comms experience on ERP/SAP implementations.
