Service Supervisor – Queen Margaret University

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise catering team (servers, chefs, support personnel).
  • Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback to maintain high performance.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Address and resolve issues/concerns promptly for customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate delivery, setup, and breakdown of catering equipment and supplies.
  • Oversee event flow (food service, beverage, guest interactions).
  • Manage inventory and order supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and guests.
  • Handle customer inquiries, requests, and special dietary requirements professionally.
  • Solicit feedback to continuously improve catering services.

Skills and Expertise

  • Previous service supervision experience.
  • Passion for food and customer service.
  • Experience in supervising, training, and supporting teams.
  • Strong delegation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to adapt to challenges with a solution-oriented perspective.
